Diva Astinova

I am a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at New York University (NYU).

In my research, I use micro data to answer macroeconomic questions on labor markets and inequality.

My job market paper shows that initial labor market conditions have long-lasting effects on individual earnings trajectories, with disproportionately larger impacts for individuals from low-income families.

In 2024, I was an AEA Dissertation Fellow at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. I participated in the Fund Internship Program at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in 2023.

I will be on the 2025–26 job market.
